Ceremonies mark Maulidur Rasul

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) organised a special lecture event at the Banquet Hall of the Department of Councils of State yesterday to commemorate Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birth anniversary.

The event was jointly organised by the National Security Committee Secretariat, PMO; National Security Coordination Centre (NSCC), PMO; Department of Councils of State and Public Service Commission.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.

Attorney General Dato Seri Paduka Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa, deputy ministers at the PMO, permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at the PMO, heads of departments, officers and staff of the PMO were also in attendance.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ministry of Religious Affairs’ (MoRA) Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Mohammad Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran.

It proceeded with the recitation of verses from Al-Quran by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Headquarters Surau Imam L/Cpl 6569 Mohammad Zulhairi bin Omarali in Gadong.

An RBPF Dikir group also performed the Dikir Marhaban.

Religious Counselling and Understanding Department Special Duties Officer Grade II Muhammad Yussof bin Haji Abdul Majid delivered a talk entitled ‘Bersabar, Berikhtiar, Bertawakkal dan Berdoa Menghadapi Ujian: Meraih Syafa’at Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam’.

The event concluded with the recitation of Doa by Haji Mohammad Izzat Izzuddin.

At the Sultan Sharif Ali Mosque in Kampong Sengkurong, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) organised a Maulidur Rasul celebration ceremony yesterday, coordinated by the Prison’s Department.

Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman was in attendance. Permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretary at the MoHA, heads of departments, senior officials, officers and staff of the MoHA were also present.

The ceremony also saw the handover of waqaf by the minister to Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Mohd Zaidin bin Haji Mohd Noor.

A religious talk entitled ‘Patience, Endeavour, Trust and Supplicate in Facing Test: Seeking Assistance from Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)’ was delivered by Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) Da’ie Ahmad Muzhafar bin Haji Marsidi.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) through the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) and the Educators Management Department also held a similar event at the Main Hall of the Curriculum Development Department yesterday.

Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa led by Sufri Bolkiah Mosque Imam Abdul Razak bin Samat followed by a special talk entitled ‘Meraih Syafa’at Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam’ by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan’s (KUPU SB) Fiqh Al-Usrah Research Centre Director Hilman bin Haji Salim.

It concluded with a Dikir Marhaban led by Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre Education Officer Haji Muhammad Nazreen Hazwan bin Haji Suani.

Permanent secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE, vice chancellor, rector, deputy permanent secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE, and heads of departments from the ministry were also in attendance.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) also held a Maulidur Rasul celebration ceremony at the ministry’s Digadong Hall yesterday. Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Mosque Affairs Officer Muhd Zakaria bin Haji Mohd Salleh, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Imran, verses 133 to 148 by Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) student Haji Mohd Khairul Zaman bin Haji Mohd Salleh.

It proceeded with the reading of Sari Tilawah Al-Quran by ITQSHHB student Siti Rosidah binti Haji Abdullah @ Nora Maslina and continued with a welcoming remark from Acting Director of Community Development Pengiran Siti Rahmah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh, as the event chairperson. A talk was delivered by Islamic Da’wah Centre Religious Officer Mohammad Nasyith bin Superi on ‘Mencintai Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Merupakan Satu Kewajipan’.

The celebration also saw a Dikir Marhaban by three new Muslim converts who are officials from the MCYS – Youth Development Centre trainer Muhammad Aqil Fauzan bin Abdul Rahman Dato, Pusat Bahagia Tutong District trainers Shahrul Nizam bin Sulaiman and Nurul Shahniza binti Sulaiman.

It concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, as well as Doa seeking protection against COVID-19, Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Sayyidul Istighfar.

Permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries at the MCYS, directors and senior officers from the MCYS were also in attendance.
