The Kampong Batu Marang Mosque Takmir Committee held a cleaning campaign at Sungai Panjang Muslim Cemetery on Sunday.
It was attended by former penghulu of Mukim Mentiri Pengarah Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Naim.
The campaign began with the recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah, led by takmir committee chairman Saiful Rizal bin Haji Abdul Ghafar.
Another cleaning campaign was organised by Kampong Kulapis Village Consultative Council (MPK Kulapis), the Pehin Khatib Abdullah (PeKA) Mosque Takmir Committee members and Sengkurong Police Station at Larikan Muslim Cemetery in Kampong Kulapis on Sunday. Acting Village Head of Kampong Kulapis Mohamad Asyramisyanie bin Kamis and PeKA Mosque’s Imam Abdul Najib Syazwan bin Shahrani and Imam Haji Burhanuddin bin Haji Damit were among the participants.
Thirty residents from Kampong Kulapis and 10 police personnel from Sengkurong Police Station also participated in the campaign.
Prior to the cleaning campaign, mass Fardhu Subuh prayer, a Tazkirah and Tahlil recitation were held led by Iman Haji Burhanuddin. Meanwhile, the Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque congregations and residents of Kampong Jangsak held a cleaning campaign at Tekuyong and Selancang cemeteries, led by Haji Kamis bin Haji Hashim. The annual event is traditionally held before the holy month of Ramadhan to pay respect to the departed.
