Stargazers in the Sultanate can witness a cosmic phenomenon of a rare arrangement of Venus, Saturn and a slender crescent Moon during the early hours of April 25.
International media has reported that the close conjunction in the sky may create a unique visual phenomenon resembling a smiling face in the sky. According to the Astronomical Society of Brunei Darussalam (PABD), stargazers are advised to look east from Brunei at around 5am.
But the configuration of the planets (Venus and Saturn) and the Moon will not form a ‘smiley’ from our location’s point of view. – James Kon
