Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman yesterday conveyed his gratitude for the cooperation from government agencies and the private sector, including students, in ensuring planned events for the 77th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam are implemented as best as possible.
During the second meeting of the National Committee for His Majesty’s 77th birthday celebration, the minister also thanked committee members for their contribution.
Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin also revealed the confirmed dates for the audience and investiture ceremony and royal banquet ceremony. “With the consent of His Majesty, the audience and investiture ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty’s 77th birthday is set to take place on July 15 at Istana Nurul Iman following the grand parade ceremony at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan, while the royal banquet ceremony will take place on July 16 at Istana Nurul Iman,” the minister said.
He also shared that the Knowledge Convention and the Royal Birthday Cycling Recreation 2023 will be announced separately.
Held at the Prime Minister’s Office, the second meeting of the national committee discussed the progress on preparations of events for His Majesty’s 77th birthday celebration.
Also present was Grand Chamberlain Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
