Celebrations galore at vocational training centre

The technical and vocational education and training (TVET) Regional Centre, Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation for Vocational and Technical Education and Training’s (SEAMEO Voctech) Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering on May 18 saw several other celebrations as well.

The event also commemorated the completion of two virtual training programmes for the fiscal year 2021/2022 for 11 ASEAN member countries; Hari Raya celebration for students of Ri’ayah Wa Mahabbah programme under the Ministry of Education (MoE); appreciation night for SEAMEO Voctech’s strategic partners and clients; and honouring retired staff.

Acting Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Chin Wei Keh presented certificates to training participants from Brunei and handed over the centre’s contribution to some 61 students from the Ri‘ayah Wa Mahabbah programme.

SEAMEO Voctech Centre Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the Brunei Government, strategic partners, media partners, clients from public and private sectors, as well as participants in its endeavour to become a leading TVET provider in Southeast Asia.

Director and Chief Executive Officer of Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli as the Chairman of SEAMEO Voctech Governing Board, government directors, heads of department, senior officers and clients were also present.
