The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam hosted a reception at Tarindak D’Polo in Jerudong to mark Saudi Arabia’s 93rd National Day.
On hand to welcome the guests was Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam Mohammed Abdullah Al-Buraithin.
Present as the guest of honour, representing the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, was Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman with spouse Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Asbi.
The reception began with the playing of national anthems of Brunei and Saudi Arabia, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses.
The highlight was a video presentation depicting Saudi Arabia projects – Diriyah, Sindala, Alula, the Line, the Cube project, the astronaut programme, electric cars, King Salman Park and Sports Boulevard.
The event also saw the minister cutting a cake with the ambassador to mark the occasion. – Azlan Othman
