Malayali Association (MA) in Brunei Darussalam organised a joint Hari Raya and cultural celebrations for the Malayali community on April 29 which was attended by more than 150 people.
The event, held at IAB Hall, Seria, in the Belait District, was attended by Dato Dr Maliakel John Alexander as the guest of honour. MA also took the opportunity to honour Molly Joseph Mathews, a teacher who had served 58 years in the Sultanate.
The event also witnessed performances from members of the Malayali community which included classical dance, music and traditional drum chenda melam.
The event ended with a spread of traditional Kerala cuisines along with other local delicacies.
