The Postal Services Department at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) marked the 149th World Post Day with the recitation of Surah Yaasin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran at the Brunei International Airport surau yesterday.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunication) at the MTIC Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Doa Kesyukuran led by Imam Haji Mohd Ashraf bin Haji Bujang, followed with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil for Postal Services Department officers and staff who passed away.
A doa was recited to seek protection from Covid-19 and safety of the people of Brunei.
The event concluded with Asar prayers.
In addition to commemorating World Post Day, the event also marked the 117th anniversary of the Postal Services Department. This year’s World Postal Day is themed ‘Together for trust: Collaborating for a safe and connected future.’ – Lyna Mohamad
