Celebrating technical, economic cooperation

The Indian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam celebrated the 59th Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day yesterday.

The event at India House in Jalan Kota Batu saw almost 60 guests comprising ITEC representatives from academia, government, chambers of commerce, students and members of the media and diaspora.

Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri highlighted ITEC as a platform for technical-assistance and capacity-building India offers to partner countries including Brunei.

Some 66 Bruneians have joined the ITEC training. The programme included around 300 courses being offered annually to nearly 15,000 participants from partner countries.

The high commissioner also highlighted India’s New Education Policy. Several Brunei participants also shared their ITEC experience and how it helped further their careers. – Rokiah Mahmud
