In marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), through the Muallaf Development Division, collaborated with Sinar Islam Association (PSI) to host a dikir ceremony yesterday.
PDI Acting Assistant Director Hajah Zunainah binti Haji Gunong, the guest of honour, led the contingent. She was accompanied by officers and staff members from PDI and PSI.
PSI President Abdul ‘Alim bin Abdullah Igol welcomed the contingent and new converts from the Belait District.
He highlighted that religious activities for the new converts such as guidance courses will help the new converts in embracing the Islamic faith.
The ceremony continued with a tazkirah titled ‘The Benefits of Selawat’ by trained religious teacher from PDI Siti Noraini binti Haji Hashim.
The ceremony also saw the recitation of Dikir As Salai and Dikir Asyraqal, before concluding with the handover of souvenirs to the guest of honour and the recitation of Doa Selamat. – Daniel Lim
PKMS
The Persatuan Kebajikan Melayu Se-Malaysia (PKMS) held a religious ceremony to mark Maulidur Rasul in the presence of a representative from the Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam Idris Abu Nawas as the guest of honour on Sunday.
The ceremony began with Sunnat Hajat prayers for children of PKMS members sitting for their Primary School Assessment (PSR) examinations followed with mass Asar prayers and a religious talk entitled ‘Maulidur Rasul Suluhan Ke Syurga’ by Professor Dato’ Dr Haji Zulkifly bin Haji Muda from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali.
The ceremony also saw attendees performing the Berzanji and Selawat upon Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) led by Hajah Rusyatimah binti Haji Fadzli and Rosliza Faiz Mohd Hata.
There was also a presentation of certificates to children of PKMS members who excelled in their PSR, ‘O’ Level/IGCSE and IB Diploma for 2020 to 2023 by the guest of honour who also presented a special appreciation certificate to Sofiya ‘Izzah binti Mohd Zulkifli who memorised 30 juzuk of Al-Quran. – Lyna Mohamad
