Through the IMPA network, he said, “DPS was honoured to represent Brunei at the third Asia Pacific Maritime Pilots’ Forum last month in Seoul, South Korea. The platform enriched our perspectives on maritime safety, proficiency, and technological evolution, empowering us to raise our competencies.”

On the technological front, he also said “DPS has made significant strides through the adoption of the maritime operation management system called MarineM.

“The cutting-edge platform is integrated with our existing admin and finance management system, resulting in enhancements in our operational efficiency and customer service.”

He added, “DPS has also installed a Marine Traffic AIS Station at Muara, amplifying our real-time vessel monitoring capacities within the Muara Port and Brunei Coastal Water, with a 100 per cent operational availability, at a range of 11 nautical miles and 660 square kilometres of coverage.” Captain (Rtd) Zil Husam also announced that DPS became a member of the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) in July, opening doors to a wealth of maritime industry knowledge and contractual standards.
