Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah (MDPMAMB) on Monday commemorated the 2025 Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) Day at the college auditorium, aimed at deepening students’ understanding and appreciation of Brunei Darussalam’s national philosophy – Melayu Islam Beraja.
The event was graced by former Head of the Malay Studies Department at MDPMAMB, Dr Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Radin, who served at the college from 2011 to 2015, as the guest of honour. Also present were Acting Principal Dr Mohd Zamri bin Haji Ismail, Deputy Principal, lecturers, students, as well as invited guests comprising lecturers and students from several sixth form centres across the country.
The ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthem and college anthem.
Head of the Malay Studies Department, Norliham binti Haji Tuah in her welcoming remarks, highlighted the importance of MIB in the formation of national identity and character development among youth.
The event featured a video presentation showcasing MIB-related teaching and learning activities throughout 2024, a traditional Bruneian dance performance, an MIB Friendship Quiz involving sixth form students from various schools, and a short drama titled Malang Pak Saloi.
The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of awards and certificates by the guest of honour to students who excelled in the 2024 MIB Block Excellence Awards, the MIB Friendship Quiz, and the Best Group Project.
The annual celebration forms part of the college’s continued commitment to nurturing morally grounded and visionary individuals who uphold Bruneian values, heritage, and national identity.
