Cashless payment soon at petrol stations

Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) is looking at introducing cashless payment at petrol stations.

BSM Innovation lead Zaim Ismail shared, “BSM Go Cashless booth is at the Brunei Smart Mobility Expo 2023. It is an initiative to introduce to the public of our new innovation product allowing the public to pay cashless with two solutions; the introduction of Alpha card which is a prepaid card that needs to be topped up. The other is a mobile application called b.smart.”

He added the cashless card can be topped up over the counter or through the b.smart app.

“It is in its pilot stages and not available to the public yet. We are testing the system within a small group of individuals at a few selected petrol stations. The public can probably see the card reader at various petrol stations for testing purposes.”

Zaim added, “b.smart can also be used to get retail station information.” “Customers can check where the nearest petrol station is, view V-power price, get latest promotions or announcement as well as earn loyalty points. The Alpha card can also be used at Shell Café and Singgah stores,” he said.

Meanwhile, New Business Developer Sonia Kaur at the expo said they are opening registration for the public interested to be part of the Alpha card and b.smart public pilot programme. – James Kon
