Over 200 doctors, nurses and allied health professionals physically attended the Cardiology Conference 2022 marking the 20th anniversary of Gleneagles JPMC.
The hybrid event seeing around 200 online attendees was also organised in conjunction with the 9th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Cardiac Society Brunei Darussalam.
The conference at the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) was officiated by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by a welcoming address by Gleneagles JPMC Chief Executive Officer Dr Peter Tay touching on the milestones and achievements of the healthcare provider. It continued with a speech by Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham.
The programme saw talks and lectures from local and oversea specialists. Among the topics discussed included cardiac surgery, percutaneous coronary intervention to treat ischaemic heart disease, cardiac electrophysiology, vascular surgery, anticoagulant therapy, novel heart failure therapies and chronic venous insufficiency.
The event also saw an exhibition showcasing therapies and treatments available at Gleneagles JPMC as well as new products to be introduced for the treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease.
