A man lost his life in an accident at Muara-Tutong Highway, Kampong Tanah Jambu on Saturday night.
Initial investigations revealed the man found lying on the road unconscious was the passenger of the vehicle.
Paramedics examined the body and it was believed the victim had passed away at the scene.
The driver who sustained injuries was rushed to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
The driver is in a stable condition.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) confirmed in a statement yesterday that the accident took place around 7.28pm and personnel from the Muara Police Station were dispatched to the scene after the distress call.
The RBPF urged witnesses of the accident to contact the police hotline or go to the nearest police station to aid the investigation.
