A total of 186 pints of blood were collected at a donation campaign co-hosted by Trillion Company, Sim Kim Huat Trading Company Sdn Bhd (SKH) and Borneo Kopitiam Restaurant and Catering.
The event hosted at Borneo Kopitiam Restaurant in Gadong was held in collaboration with Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s blood bank.
Trillion Executive Secretary Amy Chin expressed joy over the staff and public’s support for the campaign that smashed last year’s record of 135 donors. She said the initiative is due to a commitment she made when she experienced hiccups during her second pregnancy. It is now part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives to give back to the community.
The event was also aimed at highlighting the low levels of national blood stock and raise awareness on the importance of blood donation and its need for blood transfusions.
The campaign also coincided with company staff celebrating the owner’s birthday. SKH owner Lee Chiap Kiang was present at the event that also saw a lucky draw with prizes including two Vivo phones and 20 hampers worth BND100 each. – James Kon
