The two-day international seminar on Usuluddin education concluded yesterday with a presentation of the seminar’s resolutions.

Head of Rapporteur Dr Haji Matussien bin Haji Jumat tabled 11 resolutions including increased collaboration between institutions of higher learning and religious institutions to produce da’ie with high calibre; usage of information and communication technology (ICT) to solve dakwah challenges; and empowering religious moderation to combat influences that could damage the Islamic faith.

Deputy Dean of Faculty of Usuluddin at Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Norasimah binti Haji Omar said da’ie is the main driving force in spreading Islamic dakwah and elevating the stature of Islam in Brunei Darussalam.

They face challenges in realising Zikir Nation aspiration while confronting the fast paced digital transformation.

Dr Norasimah said it is crucial for the da’ie to continuously improve themselves in all aspects so that their dakwah efforts are more effective. They should be resilient in confronting global challenges, particularly in navigating technology change and current issues.

KUPU SB, educational institutions and dakwah agencies should remain committed to continuous guidance programmes and activities for da’ie to enhance their quality and remain relevant to changing times and diversity of social life.

The event also saw a presentation of ‘Membumikan Nilai-Nilai Maqasid Aqidah’ delivered by Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Associate Professor and Head of Graduate Studies Dr Kamaluddin Nurdin bin Marjuni.

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan was guest of honour at the event organised by KUPU SB with UNISSA and Islamic Da’wah Centre.
