The Brunei Fuzhou Shiyyi Association’s President Jackson Ting yesterday called on the association’s executive members to learn and exchange ideas with members of Fuzhou Associations in Malaysia through visits.
He made the remark during a visit by a delegation of Fuzhou Associations from West and East Malaysia to Brunei Fuzhou Shiyyi Association’s office yesterday.
Jackson Ting explained that most of Malaysia Fuzhou Associations have a long history of success while the Brunei Fuzhou Shiyyi Association is only in its 10th year. “There are still improvements that can be learnt from our counterparts in Malaysia,” he added. “During COVID-19 restrictions, we did not have the opportunity to interact face to face.
“After three years, this is the first visit we have received. We are happy to host the visit from the delegation of Malaysia Fuzhou Associations.”
He hoped that during the 10th year anniversary celebration of the Brunei Fuzhou Shiyyi Association, representatives of various Fuzhou Associations from Malaysia will attend the event in December.
The visit’s highlight saw the president handing over a MYR30,000 donation to Pahang Fuzhou Association representative Har Hock Lee. The donation will be used for the construction of Pahang Fuzhou Association building.
The delegation, comprising over 30 members, were in Brunei Darussalam for four days and three nights.
