Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdul Mu’izz bin Dato Paduka Haji Alikhan called on public members who have never donated blood to do so.

“Donating blood can improve the quality of life and will make a difference in the lives of others,” he said during a blood donation campaign organised by BMC at the Liang Lumut Recreational Club (LLRC) on Friday.

Among the 79 attendees who registered, 55 were able to donate blood.

The blood donation was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Laboratory Services of Suri Seri Begawan Hospital Kuala Belait, and organised as part of BMC’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment Department (HSD) initiative. Acting Belait District Officer Mohamad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed officiated the campaign, which also saw a mental health awareness talk and a health promotion booth led by Dr Amir Clinic.

Meanwhile, the Blood Donation Centre, Department of Laboratory Services at the Ministry of Health, will hold public blood donation campaigns:

Unit G12, Ground Floor at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in conjunction with Bakarih Day of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah tomorrow until Tuesday, from 10am to 2pm; and Unit 17 and 18, 2nd Floor, Block A of Awang Haji Metussin building, in Kampong Kiulap, organised by the Brunei Darussalam Hokkien Association, on November 27 from 9am to 1pm.
