Retired government officers and staff should continue joining community activities and support the government’s aspirations as well as contribute to the people’s welfare, said Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Yusof attending gathering of retired immigration officials in Kampong Kiulap recently. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan also emphasised on the importance of maintaining mental and physical health.
Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahim was present with 90 retired immigration officers and staff.
The event began with the recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah.
It was followed by the launch of a book titled Sekelumit Ristaan which chronicled religious, welfare, sport and social activities of retired immigration officers and staff.
The gathering saw a cake-cutting ceremony in conjunction with Immigration Day which falls on July 1 annually.
