The Foochow Association Kuala Belait handed over several awards as part of their 68th anniversary celebration at the grand ballroom of V Plaza Hotel recently which saw the participation of over 480 guests.

Association chairman Tan Tei Tei highlighted how the association’s forefathers established the association in 1949 with the task of building a robust group to support the district’s Foochow Community.

“While the number of members continued to increase since our inception, our goals have remained the same, which is to create a friendly environment where the elderly and the young generation can interact to preserve the Foochow traditions.”

The association’s honorary chairman Lim Kong Hyeok said, “While we celebrate our 68th anniversary, we must keep in mind the contributions made by our members and past leaders as we continue to carry their virtues and values into the present day and beyond”.

The celebration’s organising chairman Tieng Boon Yeo hoped the hard work of the members behind the scene helped create a memorable occasion for the attendees. – Daniel Lim
