There is an ongoing need for blood donations as demand remains critical, said Head of the Blood Donation Centre under the Department of Laboratory Services at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Senior Scientific Officer Chong Kim Moi.
She emphasised this during the two-day ‘Celebrate Hari Raya and Donate Your Blood’ event at the Blood Donation Centre of RIPAS Hospital on Thursday and Saturday.
Some 117 pints of blood were collected, with 54 pints collected from 66 donors on the first day and 63 pints from 93 donors on the second day. Chong expressed appreciation to all participants for their generosity and selflessness. “Thanks to the overwhelming support and kindness of the donors, a total of 117 pints of blood were successfully collected,” she said.
“Their act of kindness and commitment to the cause is deeply appreciated and will have a meaningful impact on those in need of blood transfusions. We encourage even more individuals to step forward and donate. Every donation counts, and your contribution could save a life,” she urged.
Eligible donors are invited to visit the Blood Donation Centre at the RIPAS Hospital or participate in upcoming blood donation campaigns.
“We look forward to continued support in future drives,” she added. – Fadley Faisal
