Call for early exposure to international football fixtures

Aspiring football players in the country should compete at international level from a young age to develop and enhance their skills before they enter teenage years and subsequently adulthood.

Dash Juniors FC under-12 team head coach Hazmin Hamzah made this remark following the team’s recent participation in a seven-a-side grassroots football tournament at FootballHub Sky Arena in Genting Highlands, Malaysia.

The head coach said that one of the main objectives of participating in overseas tournaments is to provide players with exposure to the level and quality of football played by strong teams in Malaysia.

He also expressed hopes that the public and the football community in Brunei will focus and prioritise more on grassroots football to help make improvements at the senior level. – Fadhil Yunus
