The Ministry of Health issued a statement yesterday highlighting a shortage of blood supply at the Blood Donation Centre and blood banks across all four districts. Blood types A, B, and AB are urgently needed to meet the demand for blood transfusions in hospitals nationwide.
In response to the urgent need, the ministry urged the public to step forward and donate blood at the Blood Donation Centre or nearby blood banks.
Donation hours are from 8am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 3.30pm on working days.
The Laboratory Services Department’s Blood Donation Centre will also host a public blood donation drive soon.
A blood donation drive by Kampong Bengkurong Mosque members will be held tomorrow from 8.30am to 11am.
On November 25, the Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan will host a blood donation drive at the NBT Lexus Brunei showroom in Gadong from 9am to 2pm.
The blood bank of Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam Hospital will conduct a blood donation campaign at Sultan Hassan Secondary School’s hall in the Temburong District, in conjunction with the Family Day Festival, taking place from 9am to 2pm. The public is encouraged to book blood donation slots through the Bloodkad app for these campaigns. – James Kon
