Brunei’s air quality rated ‘good’ across four districts

All four districts in the Sultanate recorded good air quality readings in the latest pollutant standard index (PSI) reading at 4pm yesterday released by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation under Ministry of Development.

The Brunei-Muara District had a reading of 48, Tutong District 28, Belait District 43 and Temburong District 24, showing good levels, an improvement since the haze impacted the country during the past several days.

Belait District has also seen ‘moderate’ PSI levels at 59.

Excessive hot weather (EHW) was observed at Anggerek Desa, Benutan, Lakiun, Bangar and Batang Duri, according to the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department.

Meanwhile Bandar Seri Begawan, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Lumapas, and Sinaut recorded EHW temperatures.

The public is advised to take precautionary measures and follow the Ministry of Health’s guidelines with regard to the hot weather condition. – James Kon
