Three Bruneian youths are attending the 6th ASEAN Youth Fellowship (AYF) 2024, a regional leadership programme held from November 3 to 10 in Singapore and Laos. The programme, designed to foster young leaders from ASEAN, seeks to create a network capable of driving change across the region. Participants will engage in dialogues with ministers, senior policymakers, and prominent thought leaders, in addition to exclusive visits and learning experiences at various organisations in both host countries.
The event in Singapore was officiated by Minister of State at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information and the Ministry of Health, Madam Rahayu Mahzam, and was also attended by Brunei’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Hajah Noor Qamar binti Haji Sulaiman.
Organised by Singapore’s National Youth Council and the Singapore International Foundation, AYF 2024 is inspired by the theme of Laos’ ASEAN Chairmanship, “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience.” This year’s fellowship focuses on the themes of Innovation and Connectivity, examining their critical roles in economic growth, regional integration, and resilience, while addressing shared challenges across ASEAN. – LYNA MOHAMMAD
