The Nisai Group of the United Kingdom (UK) recorded the success of its first cohort of Brunei trainee teachers in attaining their first milestone of their international teachers’ qualifications through an apprenticeship programme initiated through Nisai Brunei.
This comes following Nisai’s entry into the Asia region offering academic and technical vocational programmes through virtual and blended means. The establishment of Nisai Brunei as the Teaching Hub for the Asian region in 2019 was decided from the Sultanate’s strategic location being central especially for the Southeast Asian region and well-educated Bruneian youth whose potential can be developed and trained as teachers.
The apprenticeship programme is open for degree holders interested in teaching and wishing to pursue a teaching role in their career. The Brunei trainee teachers were provided on-the-job training and continuous professional development training.
Founder and CEO of the Nisai Group FDr Dhruv Patel said, “The demonstration of their attitude and positive mindset are aligned to Nisai values and its vision into giving equal access and opportunities for all, providing the education and skills to flourish through innovative education and instilling positive institutional change.
“The Brunei teachers have set a new bar of what quality and innovative education is in Asia and the request to have more Brunei teachers to teach is salient to meet the demands of the region.”
As Regional Director of Nisai Brunei FDr Hajah Normawati binti Dato Paduka Haji Othman said, “In the two years since the commencement of operations, the Brunei teachers managed to change perception of parents and stakeholders alike in Asia where Brunei teachers have gained a good repute not only for lesson delivery, quality of teaching and work performance, but also much admired for establishing a good rapport with students.
“Indirectly, they are leading and setting examples as good ambassadors to the capabilities of Bruneian youth to transform the country into a dynamic nation in line with the goals of Brunei Vision 2035.”
