The Brunei Darussalam veteran basketball team (Brunei Basketball Association, pic below) secured bronze in the 21st Borneo City Veteran Basketball International Tournament in Labuan, Malaysia yesterday.
Brunei ended their campaign with a 58-46 defeat to Kota Kinabalu after previously winning 73-65 against Miri and losing to hosts Labuan 64-55 in the opening match.
Kota Kinabalu took gold while Labuan settled for silver.
Meanwhile, the men’s and women’s teams finished fourth in their categories.
The men’s team came close to a podium finish after a tight match ended 58-63 in the favour of neighbouring Kota Kinabalu.
Four teams participated in each of the categories. The three-day meet which concluded yesterday was organised by the Labuan Basketball Association.
