Brunei Veteran Basketball Team yesterday won a game against Labuan to take third place of the Borneo Intercity Basketball Tournament (Borneo City Cup) in Miri, Sarawak.
Edmond Tan, who finished the game with a high of 23 points, helped Brunei finish with its first win of the campaign.
His compatriot Kenny Lim Wee Aik Teck contributed 13 points while Lim Han Chuan and Tan Ye Wei each scored eight points.
In the women’s category, the Brunei Women Basketball Team ended their campaign without a win after losing to Labuan.
Brunei’s Vanessa Pang had nine points while Lee Wen Juan contributed six points.
The Brunei Men Basketball Team also suffered a similar fate with the women’s team of losing all their matches.
In the last game of the competition yesterday, Brunei lost to Kota Kinabalu 63-51.
Brunei Captain Lim Liang Wei scored 12 points while Jonathan Lim had 18 points and Jeremy Chu added 11 points.
Brunei will be hosting the Borneo City Cup next year. – James Kon
