The Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) has announced the full list of the Brunei Darussalam national under-23 squad that will be representing the country in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-23 Championship in Phnom Penh, Cambodia next week.
The official 26-member squad include three goalkeepers – BIBD’s Abdul Mutalip bin Awang Haji Mohammad; DPMM FC’s Muhammad Danish Aiman bin Mardianni; and Wijaya FC’s Mohammad Haziq Hazwan bin Wahid.
The defenders are DPMM FC duo Muhammad Wafi Aminuddin and Mohammad Nazry Aiman bin Azaman; Kota Ranger FC’s Muhammad Nazif Safwan bin Jaini; MS ABDB’s Nur Aiman bin Alimin; Indera SC trio Mohammad Hirman bin Haji Latip, Amirul Aizad bin Haji Zaidi and Mohammad Ridhwan bin Nokman; Ar-Rawda’s Muhammad Khoirunnaas Khalid; Wijaya FC’s Md Alin Syahmi Hossaini; Kasuka FC’s Muhammad Nazhan bin Zulkifle; and Panchor Murai FC’s Mohammad Radzillah bin Abdul Ghani.
The midfielders are MS PDB’s Abdul Wadud bin Ramli; Kasuka FC trio Mohammad Eddy Shahrol Izzat bin Haji Omar, Mohammad Alinur Rashimy bin Awang Jufri and Muhammad Haziq Hafizhan bin Hardi; DPMM FC trio Md Danisyh Syariee bin Md Masrazni, Muhammad Nur Asyraffahmi bin Norsamri and Muhammad Hakeme Yazid bin Said; Indera SC’s Muhd Syafiq Safiuddin bin Abdul Shariff; and MS ABDB’s Abdul Hariz @ Amani bin Herman.
The team also consists three centre forwards – KB FC’s Muhd Syafiq Abdullah Mohd Ghazali; Kasuka FC’s Mohammad Hanif Aiman bin Haji Adanan; and DPMM FC’s Md Syaherrul Affendy Md Syahmirul Nizam.
The squad will be accompanied by a team of officials led by Haji Adee Suhardee bin Haji Muhidin as team manager.
The full list of team officials comprises Ah Chua Bangau as assistant team manager, head coach Aminuddin Jumat; assistant head coach Haji Mohd Wardi bin Haji Masni; fitness coach Matus Bozik; assistant fitness coach Haji Ameer Aziz-Hakim bin Haji Abdul Lani; goalkeeper coach Atsushi Hanita; assistant goalkeeper coach Awangku Omar Nur Aqamaddin bin Pengiran Haji Sallehuddin; physiotherapists Shuntaro Hagino and Mohammad Faisal Hashim; and media officer Waqiuddin Abdul Haq bin Haji Abdul Razak.
The first cohort of the under-23 national team arrived in Cambodia on Sunday with the second cohort scheduled to fly to Cambodia today.
The upcoming AFF Under-23 Championship will mark the country’s participation in international football for the first time since the Southeast Asian Games (SEA) in Manila, Philippines in December 2019.
