Standard Chartered Bank Brunei Chief Executive Officer Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim was re-appointed as the Chair of Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) recently.

The appointment was announced during BBBF’s 23rd annual general meeting (AGM) at British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam John Virgoe’s residence.

“The BBBF and its members play a crucial role in fostering economic cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom (UK) and I am confident that under Pengiran Aki Ismasufian’s leadership, the forum will continue to thrive,” said the high commissioner.

“Pengiran Aki Ismasufian has been an active member of BBBF for a number of years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position and is committed to continue leading the forum towards continued growth and success.”

Pengiran Aki Ismasufian said he was honoured to be re-elected to lead the forum and looks forward to working with the committee members to further the group’s mission to support local and UK businesses.

“Our forum has a vital role to play in promoting closer economic links between Brunei Darussalam and the UK and I am excited to be a part of this effort,” said Pengiran Aki Ismasufian.

“The BBBF celebrates the achievements of women in all areas of society and promote gender equality, not only in our forum, but in the companies which we collectively represent. We have achieved a balanced ratio of male to female members in our executive committee, reaching 50 per cent female representation in 2024,” he added.
