Brunei Town to Bandar Seri Begawan: Renaming turns 53

A cleaning campaign on Saturday marked the 53rd anniversary of the renaming of Brunei Town to Bandar Seri Begawan.

The cleaning campaign started off from the promenade of the Menglait river in Gadong.

Leading the campaign were guests of honour Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan, Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, who is also chair of the steering committee of the action group for Legal and Enforcement on issues of cleanliness; And Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, who chairs the steering committee of the action group for Stakeholder’s Awareness and Stewardship on issues of cleanliness.
