Brunei to face Timor-Leste in ASEAN Championship qualifier

The Brunei Darussalam national football team will face the Timor-Leste team to determine who will join the nine teams that have automatically qualified in the Mitsubishi Electric ASEAN Cup 2024.

Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and defending champions Thailand automatically qualified in the tournament for countries under the ASEAN Football Association (AFF). The 10 teams will be divided into two groups of five and will play in a round robin system where each team will play in a ‘home and away’ system. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Acting Secretary General of the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam Matali bin Haji Tahir and national team coach Haji Mohd Rosanan bin Abdullah Samak left for Hanoi, Vietnam to attend the official voting ceremony for the tournament on Monday.
