The average maximum temperature is 32.7 degrees Celsius (°C) for April, with the maximum temperature of 36.4°C recorded on April 24 by the Brunei International Airport Meteorological Observation Station, said Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) in a statement yesterday.
Weather condition over the next few days will be fair and hot where the temperature is forecasted to be between 32°C and 35°C during the day, it added.
The agency also said the Sultanate is currently in the inter-monsoon period, where local wind effects play an important role in governing daily weather.
For the past few days, Brunei has been experiencing relatively hot weather during the day with isolated coastal showers occurring around midday.
Isolated showers occurred over inland areas in the afternoon and spread to few coastal and sea areas later at night.
Showers or thundershowers are expected over inland areas in the afternoon and may spread towards coastal areas at night.
BDMD advised the public to take precautionary actions during hot weather events.
There is a risk of flash floods inland especially at low-lying and flood-prone areas as well as near the river banks during continuous heavy rain and high tide.
The public, road users and fishermen are advised to always be up to date with the latest weather forecast.
