The Sultanate is marking its participation in the Chuncheon 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships, held at the Chuncheon Air Dome in South Korea until October 6.

Nur Alysha Ameera binti Nasrul Azran will represent Brunei in the under-52-kilogramme female category.

The Brunei Darussalam Taekwondo Association (BDTA) in a press release said Nur Alysha Ameera has “trained rigorously under the supervision of the country’s national coach and is poised to showcase her skills and represent the aspirations of Brunei’s rising taekwondo community”.

The competition is one of the largest platforms for junior athletes in taekwondo, with over 900 athletes from 106 countries competing across various weight categories.

“The participation in the Chuncheon 2024 World Taekwondo Junior Championships highlights Brunei’s growing presence in the global taekwondo community and signals a promising future for the sport within the nation,” the BDTA said.
