Brunei Darussalam taekwondo exponents bagged a flurry of medals in the second North Borneo Open Taekwondo Championship 2023 at the Oceanus Waterfront Mall in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah recently.
The Sultanate amassed a total of 27 gold, 12 silver and seven bronze as well as finishing second overall in poomsae for 19 years above and champion in overall sparring for 19-years-old.
Of the overall medal tally, the country bagged 15 gold, seven silver and two bronze in poomsae, and 12 gold, five silver and five bronze in kyorugi.
Forty athletes comprising national and cadet athletes as well as athletes in succession to the national team took part in the two-day meet. – Fadhil Yunus
