Brunei strength sports industry gains global recognition

Brunei Darussalam’s strength sports industry and athletes have gained worldwide recognition after the results from the Static Monster Worldwide 2023 organised by strengthhub.bn, ironstreet gym, and Tropikal Barbell were approved by Strength Results.

The online portal keeps track with athletes’ performances in competitions through calculating their points and follows result in real-time with live scoreboards.

Abdul Malik Al Mukarramah has been ranked first place worldwide out of 52 competitors in the under-70kg category while Nazeem was ranked 13th.

In the under-90kg category, Pengiran Abdul Aziz was ranked 8th out of 145 competitors.

Three other Bruneian have also been ranked with Fiq Idrus coming in 45th; Kamarul Ariffin in 67th; and Yazid Taib in 83rd.

Meanwhile in the women’s under52.5kg category, Khairunnadya Sannay was ranked 7th out of 12 competitors.

In the women’s under62.5kg category, Ajeerah Fatin Azri was ranked 36th while Nurrasyadah Daron came in 38th.

Other local athletes which have also been featured in the rankings included Rifaie Omar, Sazuwan Ali, Haji Houeri and Fazri Saiful Bahrin. – Fadhil Yunus
