The Haj Management Preparation meeting for next year’s haj season took place online between the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) from Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Haj and Umrah from Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on safety, health and well-being regulations for Brunei pilgrims, as well as issues from last year’s haj management to improve operations.
The outcome will be discussed at a ministerial meeting in January, coinciding with the 4th Edition of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition in Saudi Arabia.
Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim as Chairman; Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Riyadh Saudi Arabia (as representative of Ambassador of Brunei Darusslaam to Saudi Arabia) Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim Norhafizah binti Haji Mohd Sofian; Permanent Secretary (Security and Welfare) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Salminan bin Haji Burut; and Third Secretary (as representative of the Acting Consul General of Brunei Darussalam in Jeddah) Haji Khairul Amri bin Haji Bolhassan represented the ministry in the meeting.
Other attendees included Managing Director of Haj Management Department at the MoRA Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohamad; Acting Director of Immigration and National Registration Department at the MoHA Haji Azmi bin Haji Abdul Rahim; Acting Assistant Director of Haj Management Department at the MoRA Haji Mohd Hisham bin Haji Maidin and Haj Liaison Attache at Consul General of Brunei Darussalam in Jeddah Haji Muhammad Naqib bin Haji Awang. – Azlan Othman
