Brunei records 250 new COVID-19 cases

Brunei detected 250 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the tally of confirmed cases to 143,866.

From the latest infections, 246 cases were from antigen rapid tests (ARTs) and four were results from 338 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours.

No COVID-19 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar shared the latest COVID-19 updates in the country during the daily press conference yesterday.

The minister said there are no cases in Category 5 requiring treatment in the intensive care unit while there are two cases in Category 4 requiring respiratory assistance that are under close monitoring.

Meanwhile, 112 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 142,173.

The total number of active cases is 1,474, 23 of whom are being treated in hospitals and 1,451 are self-isolating.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin was also in attendance.
