Brunei Darussalam para swimmer Danial Hakim Harjimmey bagged the bronze medal in the 50-metre backstroke (combined) S7-S9 category at the World AbilitySport Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand yesterday.
The local swimmer has previously won silver in the 100-50 and 100-metre freestyle event.
He posted a time of 1:28.99 in the 100m freestyle event.
Meanwhile, in the cycling event, Hamizan Samsudin bagged bronze in the Individual 1km event time trial in the C1-C3 category.
The para athlete trailed by a few seconds behind the gold and silver medallists.
This marked the first time that an athlete has won the Velodrome race and also Hamizan’s best achievement to date. – Fadhil Yunus
