Brunei, Oman inks MoU on education

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Brunei’s Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh and Ambassador of Oman to Brunei Darussalam Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al-Maskari on cooperation in higher education during the Sultanate of Oman-Brunei Darussalam Cooperation Dialogue Education Forum.

The Oman ambassador said, “The signing of the MoU is proof that both countries continue to strengthen educational cooperation. We are hopeful that this cooperation will continue its rapid growth and will yield more fruitful results in joint education, joint scientific research, and student exchange.”

Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah shared that Brunei and Oman have enjoyed warm relations in the field of education where several exchange of visits have taken place since the first MoU was signed between the Government of Oman and the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on October 2007.

She hoped that through the MoU, the cooperation between higher education institutions in Oman and Brunei will further deepen and flourish through exchange programmes and research collaborations that will be beneficial for both sides.
