Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (Brunei MYCE), organised by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) through the Tourism Development Department, will be held from May 30 to July 31.
Brunei MYCE 2024 focuses on conference events and exhibitions for sharing knowledge as well as new discoveries in various fields among scientists, entrepreneurs, policy makers, lecturers, students and participants from within and outside of the country.
Through international participation, Brunei MYCE 2024 aims to increase business travellers and tourists, contributing to the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) through economic activities such as hospitality, aviation, restaurants and transportation.
Brunei MYCE 2024 focuses on four main themes – Islamic, environment, technology and innovation, as well as current affairs.
As many as 18 activities, including conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions are organised by the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Forestry Department and Fisheries Department under the MPRT, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Brunei Institute of Leadership and Islamic Finance, Poni Divers Brunei, Network Integrity Assurance Technologies Sdn Bhd and other organisations.
The programme includes ‘Scientific Expedition: Exploring Brunei Darussalam’s Biodiversity’ by the Forestry Department; ‘Ocean Week Brunei’ jointly organised by Poni Divers Brunei and Fisheries Department; ‘Konferensi Antarabangsa Islam Borneo ke-15 (KAIB XV)’ by UNISSA; and UBD-AUN Summer Programme 2024 by UBD and others. – James Kon
