The Brunei-Muara Product Packages will highlight exciting activities that can be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike, such as an ‘ATV Adventure’ at MPK Katimahar Agri Park, a game of paintball at the Paintball Arena in Jerudong, watersports at Serasa Beach or for the more adventurous ones, a diving experience with Poni Divers Sdn Bhd.
This was said by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, who officiated the launch at the Centre of Islamic Calligraphy and Art Studies Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, in the capital yesterday.
The permanent secretary added that the packages will also highlight various landmarks in Brunei-Muara District, including Kampong Ayer, and Royal Regalia Museum.
The launch was joined by Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Haji Tahamit bin Haji Nudin, along with members and representatives of the Brunei Tourism Board.
The newly-launched packages aim to promote places of interest, offering experiential tour services combining primary, emerging and Village Consultative Council (MPK) products; assist tourism stakeholders such as hotels, tourist guides, tourist agents and tourism service providers by offering inclusive and flexible itineraries; promote new tourism attractions that are less known but have the potential to be developed as main attractions; prepare for the school term holiday promotion in April, August and December; and prepare for tourist arrivals once the borders re-open.
In conjunction with the launch of the Brunei-Muara Product Packages, the Tourism Development Department, with assistance from tourism service providers, have also produced brochures that include sample itineraries for visitors to choose from, designing tailor-made tours and activities through local travel agencies.
The ceremony also saw Hajah Tutiaty present the ASEAN Tourism Standards Awards to recipients. The ASEAN MICE Venue Award was received by representatives of The Empire Brunei, Armada Properties and the Radisson Hotel in recognition of their exceptional services and facilities, particularly on meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, while the ASEAN Green Hotel Award was received by Radisson Hotel as a nod for the hotel’s sustainable tourism through its environmentally friendly principles in hotel operations.
The event concluded with a trip for the media and travel agents to the Centre of Islamic Calligraphy and Art Studies Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, followed by a visit to the Royal Regalia Museum in the capital, where visitors get to experience an interpretive gallery tour via the new izi.Travel digital audio tour guide application.
Meanwhile, the Belait Tourism Product Packages will be launched at the Tropical Biodiversity Centre in Belait District on Wednesday.
