A 20-member delegation from the Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Bandar Seri Begawan (CCC BSB) looking to further enhance ties between both business associations.
The delegation from Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia was led by MCCCI Chairman Ling Chiong Sing.
Among the delegates were Honorary Chairman Lee Khoi Yun, First Vice Chairman Vincent Lu Yew Hee as well as Second Vice Chairman Ling Kie King and Third Vice President Sim Soon Tian.
Ling Chiong Sing in his welcoming remarks said; “The mission of MCCCI and the CCC BSB despite located in different countries, is aligned to unite Chinese entrepreneurs for the development of the nation as well as to forge business cooperation.”
He added; “In a rapidly changing world, our Chinese Chamber of Commerce needs to continuously strive for improvement to keep up with the global trend.“ The MCCCI is approaching its 100th anniversary and to commemorate the milestone, a series of celebratory events will be held. The chairman also invited CCC BSB to the gathering.
The centennial celebration not only highlights MCCCI’s contributions to commerce, economic development, and society but also showcases the legacy and innovation of the Chinese business community. MCCC BSB President Lim Han Chiong and association executive members welcomed the MCCCI delegation.
Both associations also discussed the need to attract more membership, especially young members for future planning. – James Kon
