The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy will organise a 51-day Brunei Mega Sales (BMS) 2024 from March 4 to April 23.
The annual sales is aimed at encouraging local enterprises to stimulate economic activities in the country.
BMS 2024 is a platform for businesses to attract consumers by offering discounts and sales promotions, thereby promoting domestic spending during the upcoming festive season of Ramadhan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The JPES also encourages the participation of businesses, including department stores and supermarkets, furniture stores, bookstores and sporting goods stores to take advantage of the event to offer discounts and promotions as well as competitive pricing for goods and services.
The list of BMS 2024 participants will be featured in the ‘Sales & Discounts’ section in the PenggunaBijak app.
The agency also reminded BMS 2024 participants to comply with Chapter 261 of the Cheap Sale Price Regulations, Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act and the Price Display Order including clearly displaying prices, discounts and any terms and conditions to help consumers make informed purchase decision. Cheap sale price notices issued by the department must also be prominently displayed in participating business premises.
