Brunei-Malaysian defence relations reaffirmed

Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd Kadir received a courtesy call from Malaysian Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan at The Empire Brunei in Jerudong yesterday.

Accompanying Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad was Chief of Defence Force, Malaysia Armed Forces (MAF) General Dato Paduka Seri Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affendi bin Buang.

During the courtesy call, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral defence and military relations and reiterated the intent to enhance cooperation in defence and military sectors through bilateral and multilateral platforms.

To date, both defence and military institutions have collaborated at regional and international operations, specifically under the umbrella of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao, the Philippines.

The courtesy call followed with a welcoming lunch hosted by Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak for the visiting Malaysian Defence Minister.
