The 20th Joint Defence Working Committee (JDWC) meeting between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia was conducted virtually yesterday.
Permanent Secretary (Policy, Finance and Administration) at the Ministry of Defence Colonel (Rtd) Norsuriati binti Haji Sharbini and Secretary-General at the Malaysian Ministry of Defence Dato’ Sri Muez bin Abd Aziz co-chaired the event.
They lauded the active bilateral and regional interactions between defence officials of both countries, notably on the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) platform.
The JDWC met to discuss bilateral defence cooperation including military training and exercises, exchanges of intelligence, logistics matters as well as exchanging views on issues of mutual interest.
The JDWC was established following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation on February 14, 1992, with the inaugural meeting held on July 17, 1993.
