BIACC Sdn Bhd, a government-linked company under Darussalam Assets Sdn Bhd, and YKL Borong Runcit, a Malaysia-based e-retailer, signed a general service agreement for the provision of warehousing and e-commerce fulfilment services at the Inland Container Depot (ICD), Kuala Lurah, at BIACC Headquarters on February 2.
Signing on behalf of BIACC was General Manager Haji Ariffin bin Haji Emran witnessed by Deputy General Manager Jo Ann Emilda binti Haji Embran while YKL Borong Runcit was represented by its Marketing Director Daniel Koh and witnessed by Operations Manager Azmi bin Mahrdan.
BIACC is the current operator of the ICD at Sungai Tujoh and Kuala Lurah and it offers a host of logistics services to domestics and international cargo community in facilitating the cross border movement of their export, import and transhipment cargo in the most efficient, safe and secured manner.
YKL Borong Runcit is one of the largest e-retailers in Sabah dealing with do-it-yourself (DIY) furniture, housewares and plasticwares.
BIACC has been chosen to become the service provider because of its capability to perform YKL Borong Runcit e-commerce fulfilment requirements in Brunei. In the near future YKL Borong Runcit plans to use the ICD at Kuala Lurah as its transhipment and distribution hub for imported goods bound to the neighbouring towns of Sarawak.
BIACC was also chosen due to the efficient and competitive service as well as the availability of complete facilities such as bonded warehouse and modern warehouse management system to expedite the process where government authorities such as the Royal Customs and Excise Department is also housed in the ICD building to perform appropriate Customs clearance functions.
