Brunei logs 667 new COVID-19 cases

Brunei Darussalam yesterday recorded 667 new COVID-19 cases, from 6,551 laboratories tests carried out. All new cases are local, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 24,659, a Ministry of Health (MoH) statement said yesterday.

One case is under Category 4 in need of oxygen assistance and under close observation, while two cases are in Category 5, requiring artificial ventilation assistance.

A total of 132 cases recovered, bringing a total of 17,546 recoveries. There are 7,011 active cases with the bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide standing at 18.7 per cent.

As of February 14, 94.9 per cent of the total population had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 94.1 per cent had received two doses. A total of 47.2 per cent of the population had received the booster shots.

No violations were detected during the daily movement restriction from midnight to 4am yesterday.
