Brunei Darussalam recorded 48 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the national tally of confirmed cases to 16,132.
Of the new cases, 20 were local and the rest were imported cases, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said in a statement yesterday.
The new cases were detected through 2,763 laboratory tests carried out in the last 24 hours. The infection rate of positive cases is at 1.7 per cent.
Thirty-two cases have recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 15,664. There are 366 active cases and the bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide is nine per cent. No cases are in categories 4 or 5.
Meanwhile, as of January 1, 94.8 per cent of the total population had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 93.9 per cent had received two doses and 37 per cent had received their booster shots.
